Backpacking is far more than a way of traveling. It’s a way of experiencing and discovering the world. It is, to all intents and purposes, a way of life.
Backpacking doesn’t teach you independence – it hones your independence and makes you more self-sufficient.
It teaches you to survive in an occasionally tough, but always alien environment. And once you’ve figured out how to survive in this strange world, then you can embrace its differences and enjoy its diversity.
The backpacker knows that the only way to find out about the world is to explore it. Whether you’re talking about smoking with sadhus at the ghats of Banaras, or sunbathing on the beaches of Goa, the principle is the same:
Frontiers are there to be crossed, wildernesses to be discovered.
We, the team of Roadhouse Hostels along with Photofie came together to celebrate the spirit of “Backpacking”.
We have come up with this theme to help you discover the backpacker in you.

How To Submit
Only one submission allowed per person. Entries can be submitted by sending a mail to info@photofie.com
Photograph must be in JPEG format & File name must follow the format -
“Name of Photographer _ Image Title”.
The email subject must read: “BackPacking by Name of Photographer”.

Terms & Conditions
By entering in the “Backpacking” Photo Contest, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1. By entering this content, you represent and warrant that your entry is an original work of authorship, and does not violate any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If your entry infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, you will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Photofie. If the content of your entry is claimed to constitute infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, You shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Photofie from and against any suit, proceeding, claims, liability, loss, damage, costs or expense, which Photofie may incur, suffer, or be required to pay arising out of such infringement or suspected infringement of any third party’s right.
2. Photofie reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
3. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
4. Photofie’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
6. The winner will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
7. By participating, each entrant grants Sponsor/Organizer permission to use his/her name, work, likeness or comments for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law.
8. By entering, You agree to release and hold harmless Photofie and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and sponsers from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or
damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not.
TIP: The awardees for Most Appreciated and most popular would be chosen best on the number of likes you receive on your picture on Facebook. So, once we post you entry on Facebook, tag yourself in the picture and then start accumulating likes on that.
